Showers and Thunderstorms To Persist
Associated Press
Showers and thunderstorms will persist across New Mexico through Thursday, with the best chances over the south, the National Weather Service said.
High pressure over the northern Gulf of Mexico will move into central Texas, shifting the focus of precipitation to western New Mexico by Friday.
Showers and thunderstorms popped up Monday and persisted early today, mostly north of Interstate 40 and east of the central mountains.
Las Vegas was inundated with 1.27 inches of rain, Clayton received 0.72 of an inch, Raton got 0.68 of an inch and Deming collected 0.38 of an inch.
Patchy fog clung to Clines Corners and Las Vegas before daybreak today.
Low temperatures before dawn ranged from the low 50s over the north to the low 70s across the southeastern plains.
High temperatures Monday ranged from 70 degrees at Cloudcroft to 96 degrees at Deming.
