UNM Officially Introduces New Lobo Football, Men's Basketball Announcer

Associated Press
New Mexico athletics officials on Tuesday introduced the school's new radio play-by-play announcer, Scott Galetti, along with two new analysts for football and men's basketball.
Galetti will be joined by former Lobo safety Josh Bazinet on football broadcasts, while former New Mexico assistant coach Scott Didrickson who served under former coach Ritchie McKay, will work men's basketball games.
Athletics director Paul Krebs said Galetti was selected from an initial pool of up to 300 applicants. The field was winnowed to about 10, then gleaned by officials from Learfield Sports, the multimedia rights holder for New Mexico athletics.
Galetti replaces Mike Roberts, who held the job for 40-plus years. The decision to look for a successor last spring upset many Lobo fans.
"If I just do my preparation, do the job, I'm confident all of that will blow over," Galetti said. "But I don't think anyone's going to forget Mike."
Galetti has called NFL games and NCAA football and baseball on RSC Sports Radio Network, along with handling various other sports. He has been a talk show host for the Sports Fan Radio Network.
Krebs said Joe Behrend will continue to handle play-by-play for New Mexico women's basketball, but a search is under way for a radio analyst.
